FAQs

CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol.  Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis and hemp plant.  CBD is one of 100 ‘cannabinoids’ found in these plants.

No.  Although it comes from the hemp plant, which is part of the Cannabis sativa family, marijuana / weed is a different strain of plant also from the same family but that’s where the comparisons end. Marijuana contains much higher quantities of the psychoactive compound THC. Our CBD contains no THC and won’t get you high.

In basic biology terms, CBD interacts positively with the endocannabinoid system, which regulates mind and body, promoting balance (homeostasis for the nerds).

Our personal experience with CBD has found that it helps us to find focus, calm and balance.  There’s a huge amount of anecdotal evidence from around the world that shows CBD effects everyone slightly differently but overwhelmingly positively.

Endocannabinoids are similar to cannabinoids, they’re just made by our own bodies.  The endocannabinoid system appears to regulate lots of important processes in the body and when it’s working optimally it makes you feel balanced – affecting mood, memory & sleep as well as things that impact health including inflammation, cardiovascular, liver function and the reproductive system.  The endocannabinoid system is active in your body even if you don’t take any additional cannabinoid supplements e.g. CBD.

The research is in progress but one of the theories is that cannabinoids like CBD could improve the efficacy of our body’s own endocannabinoids.  Watch this space as more research comes to light, but we know from experience that we feel more balanced after consuming it, so it’s doing it for us.

Scientific research in this space is mostly geared towards medical benefits.  On the lifestyle side, which is where we definitely are, evidence is all anecdotal.  We’d like to research lifestyle benefits in more detail – our dream is to conduct our own medical study.

It means it is a biologically active ingredient compared with an ingredient that is there simply to add flavour. Our CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system so is considered to be ‘active’.  Good news…

Liposomal means the CBD oil compounds are encased by microscopic pockets of fat.  These enable the CBD molecules to be suspended in our drink.  This means that the CBD is likely to be better absorbed by the body or ‘bioavailable’.  In the vitamin world it’s known that liposomal products are more efficacious, we just haven’t had the same testing in the CBD world yet.

Our CBD is broad spectrum, which means the psychoactive bit, THC, has been removed completely.

Yes – we took our time to find producers who we could trust.  We’ve been to the farm in Lithuania and know it’s made from hemp grown naturally. The flowers are then processed into CBD in the UK at a special laboratory. You can trace our CBD from plant in bloom to drinking INTUNE. Click on the image to enlarge or click HERE

We did several efficacy studies as a team.  We found that 10mg of the CBD we use is the ideal amount for us to find our focus and feel balanced.  The effect of CBD is different for everyone so it’s important to explore the space and find what works for you.

The maximum recommended daily dose of CBD is around 200mg. If you’re taking CBD for lifestyle benefits as we do, a can of INTUNE provides a good dose and it’s absolutely fine to drink 2 or 3 in a day.

Focus?

We can only speak from personal experience, but we think that CBD helps us get INTUNE and focus on the job / situation / party in hand.  Try it and see what you think (and let us know).

Getting INTUNE means getting your sh*t together, finding a moment of harmony to enable you to be in the moment and get on with whatever you need to do. It’s what we feel like when we’re in ‘flow’ – we’re in control and focused whatever the external circumstances.

Planet?

We are very intentionally in a can.  Metal recycles forever and our cans are made from 70% recycled material.  They look great and are better for the environment.  Did you know that if you drink one INTUNE today it could be back on a shelf within 60 days? Exactly.

Natural?

Our botanical and fruit extracts are from actual fruits and herbs with minimal intervention.

We use a tiny bit of soy lecithin to make our CBD water soluble.  It’s a food additive that’s found it lots of supplements and foods and is safe to drink.

Most of the allergens in soy lecithin are removed during the manufacturing process.  It’s not a problem for people with minor sensitivities but if you are severely allergic we would not advise it just in case.

Sugar?

We’re here to make exceptional tasting CBD drinks, we’re not a diet soda brand.  However we get it and don’t want to over use the sweet stuff.  We tried a lot of different things along the way and believe we’ve found the ideal sugar levels (under 4g / 100ml) to make CBD delicious.

Put simply, natural sweeteners just taste a bit weird.  We experimented a bit but couldn’t get it to taste good enough.

Vegan?

Why?

INTUNE was brought to life by a team of taste experts.  We knew that for more people to try CBD it had to taste amazing.  The liquid was even developed in a co-working space for bartenders – where better to create something really worth drinking?

Our founder, Hannah, discovered CBD when she was having treatment for breast cancer.  She found it helped her to feel present, focused and highly productive.  So she brought together a group of taste experts to bring CBD to the world in great tasting drinks to help more people to find their focus.

Ideas?

INTUNE can be mixed with alcohol but as we’re big on focus we’ve developed some great tasting booze free  Serve INTUNE
